Three men are in police custody for breaking into ministry of education warehouse in area 28 in Lilongwe and steal books and boxes of chalk belonging to Malawi Government.
Police in kanengo confirmed of the development and identified the suspects as Yonas Banda, aged 25 of Khomani village, Traditionbal Authority Chiseka in Lilongwe district, Francis Gunda, aged 41 of Kaunda village, Traditional Authority Kaphuka in Dedza district both workers of Armtech Security Company and Greyson Chiyimba, director of Praise Private Primary School in area 50, aged 41 of Kasela village, Traditional Authority Lukwa in Kasungu district.
Police added that, they were on patrol when they came across Gunda and Banda carrying bags containing books but failed to explain how they had acquired them.
After conducting search and realising that the boxes were stolen from and enquiring more from them, it was revealed that more books and boxes of chalk which they had stolen were kept at the house of Chiyimba.
The suspects will soon appear before Nkukula First Grade Magistrate on 21 September, 2015 to answer charges of Breaking into a Building and Commit Felony Therein which is contrary to Section 311 of the Penal Code.
