Burial ceremony of late George Nga Ntafu, former United Democratic front (UDF) leader in Parliament in 2004/09 is under away at Ntonga (Khumbo Farm) along the Chikwawa road.

Nga Ntafu, a neurologist died on Tuesday at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital in Blantyre where he was rushed after being involved in car accident along the Chileka road.

Earlier in the morning, Malawians from all walks of life flocked to Sunnyside Adventist Hospital to attend a Church Service in honour of late Nga Ntafu who until his death was Chief Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Health.

Among the notable faces present at Church service were Speaker of Parliament Richard Msowoya, former Vice President Nkhumbo Hastings Kachale and Friday Jumbe.

Ntafu made headlines in 2007 in Parliament when he called Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) MPs ‘Agalu’[Dogs].

He was booted out of Parliament in 2009.

Born on Likoma Island, Ntafu was trained as a neurosurgeon in Germany and returned home in the 1980s and was based at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.

Meanwhile former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi, Dr. Joyce Banda and President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika have expressed shock over the death of Ntafu.
