“As a young boy Father Masauko accepted God’s call just like Isaiah did. He said “yes” to God to proclaim the Good News of salvation which we read in Luke 4:16-21, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to bring good tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord,” said Mbeta.

On his part, Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima described the late Father Masauko as fearless, courageous, saying he was the voice of the voiceless.
