Egyptian Government has awarded 22 more capacity building training programs financed by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) in some of Egypt’s Premier Institutions.

Ambassador of Egypt to Malawi Maher El-Adawy said his country has provided 157 capacity building training programs for Malawi in the fields of Health, Police, Information, Media, Diplomacy, Agriculture, Trade and Industry, Rural Development, Empowerment of Women, Natural resources, Education, Environment, Telecommunications, Fibre Optics, Military, Immigration, Energy, scientific Research among others.

He said the 22 capacity building trainings awarded by Egypt are eight from health sector, eight from security sector, two from energy sector, two from education sector and the last two from the labour sector.

“Egypt will continue to support Malawi by providing more Capacity Building training programs in the year 2016 and beyond,” said the Ambassador.

El-Adawy said Egyptian commitment is important to give hope and opportunity for Malawians who must upon their return work hard to capitalize on their newly acquired know-how, skills and networks to widen the circle of knowledge to create a better future for Malawi.

He therefore announced the formation of the ‘Friends of Egypt in Malawi Association’ (FEMA) based on the multiple participants of the training programs in all fields in Egypt.

According to the ambassador FEMA will be responsible for sharing knowledge and experience learnt in the different programs and also inspiring Malawians to work hard, acknowledging that it is the only way for the country to develop.

He then invited all the previous participants in these capacity building training programs in Egypt to join FEMA.

He said the first activity for FEMA will be to donate items on the occasion of World Aids Day on 1 December, 2015.

Minister of Health Dr Peter Kumpalume said the training is important to Malawi Government as it will make a difference in different sectors that Egypt is offering to Malawians.

He said it is government’s expectation that Egyptian Government that will increase their understanding of their respectful but also that when they come here will be able to empower that knowledge to fellow friends.
