As the country bemoans of the lost long gone reading culture amongst many, some artiste have thought of otherwise by embracing the digital world which seems to be the order but also the future of the day.
There is an outcry on the hustles one has to go through if they are to publish a book, compilation of stories, magazine since most printing and publication houses charge exorbitant fees which are sometimes farfetched from reality but also a deterrent to the upcoming talent.
This is what ignited one such Michael Phoya who recently launched his digital compilation of short stories Finding Reality at the Goethe Institute in Lilongwe.
The stories are compiled on an audio CD and cover a wide range of issues that have largely reflected the growth of Phoya as an artiste through his journey.
According to Phoya most the stories were written some years back and have been refined over time with the quest to have a quality publication.
“Most of these stories were written when I was between 18 – 22 yrs, and have undergone construction for a while in order to bring out a good compilation” he was quoted.
This seem to be a new trend in the artistic world not only in short story writing but also poetry as it is evident in the many audio poetry CD compilations that have flooded the market.
However, with the growth in technological advancements piracy still remains a thorn in the flesh within the industry as it is inevitable but also difficult to curb.
The launch was attended by a cross section of people who were also treated to some poetic performance therapy from Chisomo ‘Nyamalikiti-
