Euthini Secondary School in the Northern district of Mzimba has been indefinitely closed over water crisis that has hit the school.

Euthini Secondary School Head Teacher Crescent Kapira confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press, saying the school was closed last Friday.

Kapira said the problem had been there for some time now.

He said at times the school could cancel classes so that the students go to draw water for cooking, washing dishes and other activities at the school.

Education division manager (North) Temwa Msiska on Wednesday confirmed the closure of Euthini Secondary School with Nation Newspaper.

The school closed on Friday, but the rest will close on December 18.

Published reports indicate that the school have a population of about 500 students and over 24 members of staff and relies on two boreholes.
