Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) has disclosed that it has opened a late registration window for candidates who still wish to sit for the 2016 national examinations.

MANEB disclosed this in a statement released on Wednesday made available to FaceofMalawi signed by its Public Relations Officer Simeon Maganga.

Maganga said late registrant will pay a penalty of K2, 000 and the normal registration and ID production fees.

He said deadline for submission to MANEB is Thursday, 31st December, 2015.

Maganga said MANEB is appealing to all Heads of examination centre which still have spaces to accommodate these late registrants and process their registration accordingly.

“Please note that all late registration submissions, except for ID forms, should go through respective DEMs which shall then submit the same to MANEB.

“No candidate or school should bring their data directly to MANEB. Further, take note that MANEB does not register candidates directly but through approved examination centres,” reads the statement in part.

Normal registration period, which began in October, 2015, was closed on 11th December, 2015 for the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE), Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) and the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
