Information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that a case involving former United Democratic Front (UDF) member Humphrey Mvula’s son Dumisani will be tried at the High Court in the capital Lilongwe on Friday.
Dumisan and three others described as hardcore criminals were arrested in January early by the Police in Blantyre and they were charged with three counts (murder, robbery with violence and carjacking).
During the arrest police also recovered 260 rounds of ammunition, a pistol and a gun pump.
Judiciary Spokesperson Mlenga Mvula confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the case will be presided over Judge Kenyatta Nyirenda.
Mvula said the case has been committed to the High Court considering the gravity of the crime.
The four suspects namely Dumisani Mvula, Dickson Mangombe, Andy Machinjiri and Chipiliro Gombwa are being accused of murdering three people and hijacking seven cars and one of it belonging to TNM.
Meanwhile the Police are also keeping in custody a fellow officer from Kanjedza Police for allegedly supplying arms to the four hardcore criminals.
