Former Vice President Khumbo Hastings Kachali has called upon all members of opposition People’s Party (PP) to forget their differences and concentrate in rebuilding the Party ahead of the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
Kachali said in an interview with the press when he was asked to respond on the rumours hovering on the social media that he is sponsoring expelled Christopher Mzomera Ngwira to challenge the appointment of Uladi Mussa as PP’s interim leader and Kemlepo Kalua as third Vice President for the North.
In his speech, Kachali said everyone is entitled to their opinion but he personally respect former President Dr. Joyce Banda the current PP leaders.
“I have no control over anyone’s opinion, but get it from me, you have a leader, respect that person I have myself been a leader in various parties so I know what it is to be a leader,” Kachali was quoted in Daily Times as saying.
Recently Mzomera Ngwira was quoted in the media that he was behind the fracas in Mzuzu where four Malawi Congress Party (MCP) members were seriously injured.
Ngwira said he was not happy with the presence of Kamlepo at the rally and he warned Harry Mkandawire and others of the staged violence.
