As the painful month for countries in the Southern part of Africa begins, President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is today night scheduled to attend a night of prayer organized by Living Waters International Church at Kamuzu Stadium.

In January this year, well-known Nigerian prophet TB Joshua said the month of April will be a painful month for countries in the southern part of Africa, saying one of its leaders will die.

The issue did not please President Mutharika and he took the matter on the podium, branding the prophet as fake.

Mutharika publicly said the prophecy was about him and Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.

“Let me tell you, Joshua you will fail. What you did in 2012 will not happen again this year,” said Mutharika.

According to the church’s Founder and President, Apostle Dr Stanley Ndovie, the prayers have been organized to lift the country into the hands of God so that all national matters are guided by divine intervention.

“We are delighted that this will be an inclusive event where all Malawians regardless of status in society will lift the country to their creator in prayer. The State President and other elders of society have decided to attend as such we should all emulate their zeal for prayer by attending the event,” said Ndovie.

The prayers will run under the theme “The Fear of God is the foundation of national development”.
