The body of late Simon Kalanzi-Mbewe will be laid to rest at his home village, Miyani Traditional Authority (T/A) Tambala in Dedza District on Friday.
Kalanzi Mbewe died of lung cancer at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) on Tuesday evening in the capital Lilongwe.
Mbewe joined politics way back during Multi-Party democracy.
He served in the United Democratic Front (UDF) as a Deputy Regional Governor, in Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as Regional Governor for the Centre (during late Professor Bingu Wa Mutharika era) and he joined People’s Party (PP) as a National Campaign Director.
Mbewe is survived by a wife and four children.
