Civil Society Grand Coalition has asked the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) administration to effect death penalty on those people involved in the killing, abducting and exhuming albinos in the country.
The call comes amid reports that over 17 people leaving with albinism have been killed, 100 abducted and dozens of tombstone of albinos have been tampered.
Speaking in an interview with the press, Lucky Mbewe said capital punishment is required for those people involved in the malpractice, saying the situation is going out of hand.
Mbewe also commended the 25 years jail sentence handed to two people who allegedly murdering a 17-year old boy.
He said the sentence will help to deter those would be offenders from the malpractice.
On Thursday President Peter Mutharika met person with albinism , promising firm action to stop the murders.
