Mzuzu University Management has finally hiked fees for undergraduate and upgrading students despite protest from the students.

Earlier the management hiked the fees from MK250, 000 to MK300, 000 per academic year but the students rejected the proposal.

The development forced the management to engage the student Union in a dialogue over the weekend where they reached an agreement.

According to information at hand, the management has hiked the fees from MK250, 000 to MK280, 000 per academic year.

Mzun Student Union President Wazamazama Katatu confirmed of the meeting at the hiking of the school fees.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Robert Lidley also confirmed of the deployment saying the fees has been hiked due to high cost of living and inflation rate.

Lidley also said the fee has been hiked due to the fact that government has slashed the allocation to the school.
