Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who is also leader of opposition in Parliament has condemned the continuous attack on people living with albinism in the country, saying the issue is denting the image of the country.

Chakwera said this on Sunday during a rally organized by the Party in the Northern District of Mzimba at Chimkusa ground.

In his speech, Chakwera further blamed government for not doing enough to curb the malpractice citing Ntcheu case which he said has stalled and that there is no progress because a ruling DPP official is involved.

Chakwera commended Parliamentarians for amending anatomy act, saying this will help the courts in the country to hunt down stiffer punishment on those people involved in albino killings.

Turning to the hunger situation in the country, Chakwera urged Malawians to take care of the Maize harvested, saying there is hunger in the country.

He further said his party will make sure that the relief maize and others from donors should benefit all Malawian citizens irrespective of region or tribe.
