Opposition Peoples Party has expelled its Member of Parliament for Zomba Ntonya Constituency, Patrick Makina from the party.

The development comes barely a week after the Party suspended him as both party member and Parliamentarian.

According to information at hand, the decision to fire Makina was reached on Monday during a disciplinary hearing.

Makina was being accused of forming parallel strictures within the Party by among other things working with the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in his constituency.

The whole issue was brought to light by Alex Namame, PP secretary for Thondwe, George Gumwa, district party governor and Lucy Katumwa, district women’s governor.

The officials claimed that Makina stopped working with PP officials in his constituency and district long ago.

Meanwhile Makina is yet to comment on the matter.
