Blantyre City council together with Police has rescued the community ground which was sold by group village Chimire at k 5 million kwacha in Nancholi under Traditional Authority Nsomba, Blantyre.
According to concerned citizens who reported to the Blantyre City Council said the chief sold it to several people who were building their houses.
“I don’t know how some chiefs think? This ground is vital for community as it holds several important activities include developmental programs.
“However, this weekend several officials from City and Police came in midnight destroyed all the projects which were under construction,” said one of concerned residents.
Meanwhile, the ground village is likely to refund k 5 million and to answer the charges of tamping government property.
