Malawi’s Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima has today left the country for Vatican in Rome, Italy for a one day visit.
Upon his arrival on Wednesday, October 26, Vice President Chilima will attend the General Audience at the Vatican where he will also greet the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
According to the statement from the office of the Vice President signed by Pililani Phiri, Chilima will later the same day meet His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State.
During the meeting, Dr. Chilima will extend an invitation from His Excellency, Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika, President of Malawi, for Pope Francis to visit Malawi.
The Vice President will return home on Thursday, October 27 2016.
