Well-known gospel musician Faith Mussa has distanced himself from advertisement/flyer circulating on the social media indicating that the artist is scheduled to perform at symposium organized by Christian Youth Association of Malawi (CYAMA) on January 28, 2017 at Robins Park, saying the information is untrue.

The advert issued by CYAMA which faceofMalawi has seen indicates that Faith Mussa , Lawi, real name Francis Phiri and poet Robert Chiwamba are scheduled to perform at the said event where Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Church founder Prophet Bushiri will be the Guest Speaker.

The Symposium which will be held under the theme “With entrepreneurship I will not be the same” will also see Economic Association of Malawi (ECAMA) President Henry Kachaje delivering his presentation as co-speaker.

Reacting to this advert, Mussa through his manager Samuel Toney Chiwaka urged Malawians to ignore the advert, saying the artist was not contacted for the event.

“As the Manager of Faith Mussa I wish to stress that, Faith Mussa was never at any time been consulted or agreed to be part of the said event where Prophet Shephered Bushiri is scheduled to be the guest speaker.

“ Faith Mussa remains committed to his faith and belief and has not digressed from his vision to bring the best out of his talent. He has not at anytime been directly connected with the activities of CYAMA or the Shepherd Bushiri Ministries. It should be stressed that Faith Mussa has nothing against any ministry which preaches the gospel of faith. It is however important for all the public and his well wishers to know that he has a right to chose which ministry he wishes to associate with. Faith Mussa therefore finds it wrong for CYAMA to have published an advertisement/ flyer with his name on it without his prior consent or knowledge,” said Chiwaka.

According to Chiwaka, Mussa has since demanded for an apology from the CYAMA leadership.

Meanwhile CYAMA officials are yet to comment on the matter.
