Parliamentary inquiry committee on zambia maize procurement is expected to travel to Zambia to investigate more on how Admarc procured maize.
The inquiry that is being conducted by two parliamentary committees namely, Public Accounts Committee and the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture , Irrigation and Water Development Will soon come out with the answers on whether there was an element of fraud and corruption in the deal .
Dr Joseph Chidanti Malunga , the chairman of the inquiry said the inquiry would be complete after some officials visit Zambia .
“we Will go to Zambia after we finish the investigations this week ,” Malunga said.
He continued to say that it is too early for the inquiry to connect the Minister of Agriculture Irrigation and Water Development, “George Chaponda” and Admarc CEO “Foster Mulumbe” to an element of corruption in the deal but to wait until the inquiry is finished .
Mulumbe however said, there were some procurement regulations that were not followed in the whole process .
The Parliamentary inquiry is expected to finish its job this coming Friday.
