Information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that suspended Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Dr. George Chaponda is expected to arrive in the country today from Germany.
Chaponda sneaked out of the country on Thursday last week to Germany on official duties despite a court order restraining him from discharging his duties as Minister until investigations are concluded on the Zambia maize deal.
His trip to Germany attracted strong condemnation from all corners in the country with Civil Society Organisations storming the German Embassy in Lilongwe asking them to revoke his visa.
As this was not enough, some CSOs are planning to sue Chaponda, Chief Secretary to the President and Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to information at hand, Chaponda will arrive in the country through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in the capital Lilongwe.
Effort to talk to Minister of Information and Communications Technology Nicholas Dausi proved futile.
