Cash-gate convict Leonard Kalonga, has kicked the bucket on January 27, 2017  at Dr. Chirwa’s hospital at Area 10 in Lilongwe.

Kalonga, who served as Assistant Director of Tourism, was convicted soon after pleading guilty in August 2015 for stealing close to K4 billion of public funds.

He was however yet to be sentenced and was remanded at Zomba maximum prison awaiting his sentence.

This is the second time cash gate convict died  after Trizza Namathanga Senzani , principal secretary ministry  of Tourism met her fate in 2016.
