Paramount Chief Lundu of of Chikwawa was on Wednesday booed by mourners who attended the burial ceremony of Senior Chief Kabudula for dressing down opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

Senior Chief Kabudula died on Sunday night after a long illness and was buried at his headquarters at Ndamera in the district of Lilongwe.

The funeral ceremony joined together leaders from all political parties and President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika was also available.

But things went out of hand when Paramount Chief Lundu turned his eulogy into a mini political recital by condemning MCP, saying the Party should stop dreaming of ruling this country again.

Lundu’s sentiments did not go well with some factions of MCP supporters who started booing him in disagreement to his utterance.

Soon after the funeral the supporters started hunting for Lundu and were seen throwing stones at his vehicle just after Mutharika’s motorcade had left.

Senior Chief Kabudula assumed the chieftaincy in September 1998 and was elevated to Senior Chief in March 2016 by President Mutharika.

He was officially installed Senior Chief on July 24 2016.

Senior Chief Kabudula was born on March 3 1948.

He is survived by 13 children and 24 grandchildren.
