Former Speaker of the National Assembly Henry Chimunthu Banda was on Sunday sported at Malawi Congress Party (MCP) rally held in Salima attracting speculations that he has dished the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Banda challenged President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika during the DPP convention held at Comesa Hall in Blantyre in 2016.
Since then Banda has not been so active politically till yesterday when he was spotted at MCP rally organized by Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
Chimunthu Banda was seen seating closer to MCP top officials at the rally.
Chimunthu Banda served as Minister of Energy and Mining under late President Professor Bingu wa Mutharika before taking over the position of Speaker in the August House.
