Police in Mangochi are on manhunt since April 4, 2017  for a man identified as Davis Daudi who allegedly murdered his estranged wife’s lover, Blessings James, 36.

Mangochi Police Station Deputy Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sergeant Amina Tepani Daudi ( not related to suspect)  confirmed on Wednesday that James allegedly had a sexual relationship with the suspects’ wife.

“It is alleged that the deceased person went to the suspect’s house which is about 200 meters away from his house at around 23:30 hours to have sex with the suspect’s wife while the husband was out for business.

“The suspect suddenly appeared and caught them red-handed and he assaulted the deceased to death, before he ran away,” she said.

The Police visited the scene of the crime and took the body for postmortem at Monkey Bay Health Centre which revealed that the man died due to severe neck injuries.

Daudi said, if arrested the suspect is expected to answer charges of murder contrary to section 209 of the Penal Code.

The Police are advising members of the public to avoid taking laws into their own hands and instead report to Police or community leaders.
