President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has asked former President Dr. Joyce Banda to stop commenting on issues affecting the country while in self-imposed exile.

Mutharika said this on Wednesday morning during the official opening of The 29th Malawi International Trade Fair Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds, in Blantyre.

In his speech, Mutharika went to town to criticize former President Dr. Joyce Banda for her continue stay in the United States of America by ordering her to return in the country.

Mutharika said his administration has set aside lots of development project and Banda should come back home and appreciate it.

The President also accused the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) under Dr. Lazarus Chakwera criticizing his administration for no reasons.

He said in three years he has managed to construct seven roads left by the Malawi Congress Party under Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda.

Turning to this year’s Trade Fair, Mutharika urged Malawians to continue buying goods made locally.

The theme for this year’s fair is “Productivity: A source of export competitiveness” which aims to enhance productivity and boost local exports.
