After being fired as Minister of Civic Education, Culture and Community Development, Patricia Kaliati is now operating as Master of Ceremony (MC) in public functions.

This came to light on Sunday during the installation ceremony of senior Chief Ngolongoliwa to paramount chief held at at Mulhako wa Alhomwe Headquarters at Chonde in Mulanje.

Kaliati was seen playing the role of an MC together with Hope Chisanu, a broadcaster at state controlled Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC).

The development left many Malawians gathered at the ceremony with lots of questions and others were heard asking each other as to whether Kaliati was equal to the new role.

Kaliati was relieved her duties as Minister of Civic Education after nearly exchanging brawls with DPP’s Secretary General Grizeder Jeffrey wa Jeffrey.

It is indicated that Jeffrey failed to recognize Kaliati in her salutations during the rally and that did not please the fired minister who lambasted the party secretary general, questioning her position in the party.

Kaliati was heard shouting at Jeffrey “Kodi mwabwera liti muchipani inu?” (How long have you been in the party?) And the argument nearly spilled into a fight forcing current Minister of Information, Nicholas Dausi to intervene.
