Indiscipline among police officers in the country continues to attract public attention on the social media with the latest being a police officer filmed demeaning the country’s national anthem while drunk.
In a ten seconds video which has gone viral on the social media especially facebook, a police officer believed to be drunk is seen making fun of the country’s national anthem at unknown pub while holding his police cap in his hands.
Women and children are heard on the background laughing at the police officer who seemed to be unshaken with his shameless behavior.
The video has attracted debate on the social media with others questioning the morality of the police officers in the country.
Others have gone further to question the recruitment exercise, saying most the people who are roped in the Malawi Police Service lacks moral grounds.
Last month, a female police officer stationed at Chileka police unit identified as Esther Chiundiza was relieved of her duties over her leaked nude photos.
As this was not enough, three police officers were fired for being photographed taking beer, while in the line of duty and the photo.
The police officers were together with a woman believed to be sex worker.
