After former Agriculture Minister George Chaponda being arrested yesterday by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), his lawyer applied to Magistrate court in Blantyre to invalidate warrant of arrest which has been rejected.
The defence counsel representing Chaponda had this morning applied to the court to invalidate the warrant of arrest on three grounds.It argues that the state through Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has blatantly as well as disobeyed terms and prescriptions contained in the warrant.
He remains in custody at Blantyre police pending bail hearing.
