A primary school head teacher has committed suicide by hanging himself after being discharged from hospital where he was admitted following a road accident in which all his legs got broken.

Dowa police spokesperson Richard Kaponda has identified the victim as Briay Mughogho who at the time of his death was a head teacher at Mpalankhwali primary school in Dowa district.

“He was admitted to Dowa District Hospital and later discharged from the health facility. He went to his home village with Plaster of Paris (POP) on both legs,” Kaponda said.

Later he was found hanging from a roof top after his relatives had gone out. He left no suicide note.

A Post-Morten done at Dowa District Hospital revealed the death was due to strangulation.

Mughogho hailed from Missi village, Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa.
