Breast feeding campaign being carried out across the country by the Ministry of Health (MoH) over the weekend brought together United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi and Balaka north Member of Parliament Lucius Banda.

Muluzi and Banda have not been seeing each other eye to eye since UDF went into married with the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Banda has on several times criticized Atupele who is also Minister of Health under Mutharika over partnership, saying he is only benefiting him and not the party.

The veteran musician went further by describing Atupele and some of the MPs who are supporting the married as prodigals.

UDF reacted harshly by warning Banda to stop the attack, saying if he continues he will face the music.

As this was not enough, UDF did not invite Banda to recent rally organized by Muluzi in the eastern district of Zomba.

The development raised suspicion that the two are indeed in bad blood.

But what surprised many was the presence of Banda during the commemoration of world breastfeeding day held in Balaka.

Banda wrote on his twitter account: “During the week i had to welcom d Minister of Health at Balaka Hospital & later at Manica ground for opening of the world breastfeeding day.”
