Malawi’s renowned television (TV) personality, Geoffrey Kapusa, aka Mr. Splash has been banned on the state controlled Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC tv) for allegedly criticizing propaganda programmes aimed at disgracing Muhammad Sidic Mia and the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
According to information at hand, Kapusa made the remarks during a staff meeting which was strategizing to up propaganda against Opposition parties MCP.
“Kodi tizingokhalira kupanga propaganda ya Mia in a democratic country [Are we going to keep on peddling propaganda against Mia in a democratic Malawi?” Kapusa is quoted as saying during the meeting.
Kapusa has since been relocated to the radio section of the broadcasting house.
Recently, President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at one of his rallies accused Lazarus Chakwera of selling the Party to Sidik Mia at MK200 million and he likened him to Judas Iscariot.
MBC took advantage of the remarks to attack Mia and MCP as bunch of failures.
