Malawi College of Health Sciences has distanced itself from fake advertisement on social media regarding entrance examinations to the college, saying unscrupulous individuals are behind it.
Recently, the social media has been awashed with adverts saying the College is administering entrance exams for prospective candidates and those people willing to attend the entrance exams were required to deposit certain amount of money to the college account.
The first advert was seen by faceofmalawi reporter in June this year and another advert came out last month.
But in a statement released on Friday, Management has described such advert as fake aimed at duping Malawians.
“It has come to the notice of Management of Malawi College of Health Sciences that some unscrupulous individuals are floating a fake advertisement on social media for Entrance Examinations at Malawi College of Health Sciences.
“Despite the College’ earlier notice of 12th June 2017, which distanced the College from such fake advertisements on social media, the College continues to receive information that prospective candidates are responding to the bogus advertisement on social media,” read in part the statement.
Added the statement: “Members of the public are, once more, advised to ignore the advertisement on social media because Malawi College of Health Sciences has not yet advertised for its Entrance Examinations.”
